DONALD P. CALLAN, B.S., B.A., D.D.S., received his B.S., B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas in Business Management and Marketing.  He received his D.D.S. degree in 1975 and a Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1978.  Dr. Callan maintains a private practice limited to Periodontics with an emphasis on tissue regeneration and implant dentistry in Little Rock, Arkansas.

His current hospital appointment includes the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Cleft Palate Team and The University of Arkansas Medical Science Division of Plastic Surgery, both located in Little Rock.  Dr. Callan also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Florida, and as Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry.  His past academic appointments included the Department of Graduate Periodontics at the University of Oklahoma from 1990 to 1996 where he served as Associate Professor and Co-Director of Implant Studies.

Over the years, he has also served as a clinical investigator for many dental implant companies, including LifeNet Tissue Bank, LifeCell Corporation, Osteotech, Inc., BioHorizons, Steri-oss and PerioSeal Implant System.  He has also served the American Red Cross on the Medical Advisory Committee and Chairman of Dental Tissue Services in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Callan is a Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a Fellow of The International College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration.  In 2001, he was the co-recipient of the Ralph V. McKinney, Jr., Annual Award for authoring a research article of the year 2000 in the Journal of Implant Dentistry.  He is also on the editorial board of Journal of Triage Dr. Callan currently is on the Board of Trustees of the Implant Dentistry Research and Education Foundation and the ICOI International Credentials Committee.

He is an active member of many professional organizations including OKU, American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and American College of Oral Implantology.  Dr. Callan has also served as President of the Arkansas Society of Periodontics, President of the South Central Region of the American College of Oral Implantology, Chairman of the Dental Division of the National Medical Advisory Committee of the Red Cross, and on the Executive Council of the Arkansas State Dental Association.  Dr. Callan was Program Chairman of the International Congress of Implantologists in 1994 in addition to its World Congress Meeting in 2001.

Dr. Callan is an author of over 60 publications.  He is on the Editorial Board of the Grounds Rounds in Oral-Systemic Medicine, Journal of Implant Dentistry and Co-Editor (Implant) of the Dental Surgery Products Journal.  Dr. Callan has presented lectures in the United States and internationally, including the University of Moscow, Russia on various topics including dental implants, bone regeneration, soft tissue regeneration, implant maintenance, oral and systemic periodontal health, and treatment planning of the edentulous  patient.
Dr. Natalie Wong is one of 12 Canadian dentists that have attained their U.S. Board Certification in Implant Dentistry.

She also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral Implantology at Temple University.
